The Role: OnBrand Creative Agency
OnBrand is American Express’ award-winning In-House Creative Agency, and we are on a journey of rapid expansion. Our mission is to be the creative partner-of-choice for our Business Units, driving results through industry-defining creative excellence.
As a Senior Developer, you will report to the OnBrand Production Director. You will be a key architect in building seamless digital customer experiences, working across channels to turn forward-thinking ideas into functional, high-performance realities.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Execution: Lead and execute high-quality development for multiple parallel projects, ensuring clean, maintainable, and scalable code.
- Front-End Excellence: Architect digital experiences and user interfaces using a modern stack of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
- Creative Collaboration: Partner closely with UX/UI designers, copywriters, and art directors to bridge the gap between creative vision and technical feasibility.
- Mentorship & Leadership: Provide proactive coaching and technical oversight for junior/mid-level developers, ensuring code quality and professional growth.
- Standards & Accessibility: Champion industry best practices for web accessibility (WCAG), responsive design, and performance optimization from the ideation phase.
- QA & Optimization: Collaborate with QA teams to troubleshoot defects, identify patterns in bugs, and optimize the overall development lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of professional web development experience, preferably within a creative agency or a high-growth corporate environment.
- The Tech Stack: * Mastery of JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS/SCSS.
- Deep experience with modern frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, or Angular).
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git).
- UI/UX Acumen: A strong “design eye” with the ability to translate Figma or Adobe XD files into pixel-perfect digital experiences.
- Soft Skills: Proven ability to lead a project team, manage stakeholder expectations, and communicate technical concepts to non-technical partners.
- Accessibility: Solid understanding of ADA/WCAG compliance and mobile-first responsive development.
